Deine Rolle im Team
- As part of our software engineering team you will get the chance to participate in the further development of reisetopia and its platform, especially our hotel product suitespot. Together with your team, you will take ownership of your goals and play an active role in driving our growth forward.
- Your daily work focuses on the following tasks:
- Backend Development: Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable backend services and APIs using TypeScript and Node.js.
- APIs & Integrations: Develop and maintain robust APIs and integrations that connect our platform to external tools, partner systems, and third-party services (e.g. travel/hotel suppliers, payment providers, data and CRM services).
- AI & Innovation: Explore, integrate, and build with AI capabilities - from LLMs and third-party AI services to automation and intelligent features - to create innovative, business-driving solutions that set our product apart.
- Data & Persistence: Design and optimize relational data models and queries in SQL databases (with MongoDB where appropriate), ensuring performance, integrity, and reliability.
- Architecture: Contribute to system architecture and design for scalable, maintainable backend solutions.
- Technical Excellence: Stay up-to-date with trends in software engineering, technologies, and best practices - including modern AI-assisted development tools - and apply this knowledge to work efficiently and improve team processes and product quality.
- Code Analysis and Recommendations: Conduct code reviews, identify areas for improvement, and provide recommendations for optimization and refactoring.
- Code Quality: Write high-quality, maintainable, testable and scalable TypeScript code, with a focus on performance, security, and reliability.
- Code Maintainability: Ensure code is well-organized, documented, and easy to understand, with a focus on long-term maintainability and scalability.
- Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior developers, promoting code quality and best practices.

Qualifikationen
- Strong understanding of relational (SQL) databases, including data modeling and query optimization, with working knowledge of NoSQL databases like MongoDB.
- Solid knowledge of software architecture principles and development best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug complex issues and optimize code performance.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- Strong communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and technologies.
- It would be a big plus if you have a working knowledge of frontend frameworks like Reactjs/Nextjs, however, if all the above matches, we are still looking to your application.
- Nice to have:
Erfahrung
- 4+ years of professional experience in software development, with 3+ years building backend services using TypeScript, Node.js and related technologies such as Express.
- Solid experience designing, building, and maintaining APIs and integrating with external tools, partner systems, and third-party services.
- Experience using testing tools like Jest and ideally Selenium or Cypress.
- Experience working in a startup, especially in an ever-evolving agile team environment.
- Experience with frontend development using TypeScript and libraries/frameworks like React (preferred), Vue or Angular. This is not required for the role, but it is a strong plus and adds real value, as you will collaborate closely with our full-stack team and occasionally contribute across the stack.
- Hands-on experience building with AI - integrating LLMs or AI services into products, and/or using AI-powered tools to accelerate development. A curiosity for how AI can drive product innovation and everyday productivity is highly valued.
