Deine Rolle im Team

As a Senior Software Engineer - Carrier Platform, you will constantly improve our delivery and returns proposition to bridge the last mile for our customers to get the right package to the right customers at the right time.
The team is responsible for managing the platform to provide delivery and returns products, including tracking.
Your focus will be to deliver a high-performance, stable, auto-scaling system and you will have a direct impact on our customers' happiness.
We aim to delight our customers and make their experience as convenient as possible.
You'll create highly scalable solutions to be used by Operations and external users like carriers and freight forwarders.
You'll define the architecture and lead the project by overseeing teams composed of experienced engineers and product managers.
You'll coordinate the cooperation between our teams and the external stakeholders too.
You'll oversee the development and API design of an integrated system.
You'll be involved in the design, decision and planning process with focus on ensuring that Continuous Integration, Code Quality, Code Reviews, Test Coverage, etc. are kept at very high standards.
You'll join a team that is dedicated to delivering the highest standards when it comes to code quality and production environments.
You will add value by leveraging current trends in software design, architecture and web services.
As part of our Senior Engineering Community, you collaborate with other senior individual contributors to set engineering standards, guide decision-making for the technology landscape at Zalando via our Tech Radar.

Qualifikationen

You have great knowledge in Java, Kotlin, Spring Boot, Docker, AWS, Postgres, Rest API design, and event systems like Kafka.
You have sense of ownership and analytical thinking combined with your excellent communication skills (fluent in written & spoken English is a must) and willingness to share knowledge within and outside the team.

Erfahrung

You have experience in full development cycle in an agile setting, including testing (manual and automated) and deployment to CI/CD systems.
