Deine Rolle im Team
- You'll develop backend features for Tacticus and take ownership of parts of the backend systems, from planning and technical design through development, testing, and live operations.
- You'll work on new features as well as improving and evolving existing systems to support the needs of a growing live game.
- A significant part of the role will be working with our cloud infrastructure.
- You'll help own and improve our cloud environment, working with AWS and infrastructure-as-code to build, maintain, and evolve the systems running the game.
- You'll collaborate with our security and compliance specialists and help keep our development and live environments running smoothly.
- You'll work closely with your fellow developers, designers, and other disciplines to shape technical solutions and solve problems as they arise.
- You'll participate in playtests, investigate issues in both development and live environments, and take part in on-call work.
- The pace can be high and priorities can change quickly.
- You'll need to be comfortable moving between feature development, infrastructure, troubleshooting, and other technical challenges as the needs of the game evolve.

Qualifikationen
- You're fluent in Java and/or Kotlin and comfortable designing and building robust backend systems.
- You know how to work in an environment where you need to make decisions, move quickly, and evolve existing systems as requirements change.
- You're comfortable with the realities of live development, including troubleshooting production issues, participating in on-call work, and balancing immediate problems with longer-term improvements.
- You're self-directed and collaborative.
- You communicate clearly, can explain the reasoning behind your technical decisions, and are comfortable working with people from different disciplines.
- You enjoy learning, solving new problems, and improving both the systems you work on and how the team works.
Erfahrung
- You're an experienced backend developer with a strong professional background in building and operating live services.
- Experience from gaming is highly relevant, particularly from live games or LiveOps environments.
- You have hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, ideally AWS, and are comfortable owning and maintaining cloud environments using infrastructure-as-code.
