- The purpose of this position is to contribute to the academic excellence and strategic development of Gisma University of Applied Sciences through high-quality teaching, impactful research, and active participation within the academic community.
- The successful candidate will be instrumental in shaping and delivering innovative programmes in Business Intelligence, Enterprise Data Strategy, and Data Governance, with a focus on integrating enterprise reporting architectures, data compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR), and master data management solutions into the curriculum.
- This role offers a unique opportunity to engage with an international student body, collaborate with industry and research partners, and influence the evolution of data governance and enterprise intelligence education in a dynamic, interdisciplinary environment.
- Module responsibility and teaching of Gisma's Bachelor and Master programmes, particularly in the fields of Business Intelligence Systems, Enterprise Data Governance, Data Warehousing, Compliance & Ethics in Data, and Strategic Information Management, as well as examination, assessments, and student supervision.
- Active participation in programme development, quality assurance, and the integration of relevant applied tools and methodologies into the curriculum.
- Design and continuous update of contemporary teaching and learning materials aligned with advancements in the sector.
- Initiate, expand, and maintain cooperation with partners in industry and research organisations, particularly in enterprise data consultancy environments, corporate business intelligence hubs, IT governance councils, and big data infrastructure entities.
- Participation in national and international accreditation procedures, as required.
- Active engagement in academic administration and committee work.
- Further development of a personal and institutional research profile in Business Intelligence Maturity, Data Governance Frameworks, Corporate Data Ethics and Compliance, or Enterprise Information Architectures, publication of results in high-quality journals, and engagement in public dissemination.
- Support outreach activities, including student recruitment events and promotion of related business study pathways.

Ausbildung
- For an appointment, you must fulfil all requirements according to Section 41 ff of the Brandenburg Higher Education Act (BbgHG).
- Completed university studies in a relevant discipline such as Quantitative Finance, Financial Engineering, Computational Economics, Fintech, or Business Administration with a specialized finance focus.
- A minimum of three years of qualified professional experience, including at least two years outside a university environment, gained after a master´s degree or equivalent.
- Proven university-level teaching experience, with competence in blended, online, and interactive learning methodologies.
Qualifikationen
- Proof of extraordinary qualification for scientific work in the form of an outstanding doctorate and/or a strong record of high-impact, peer-reviewed publications.
- Student evaluations should reflect excellent pedagogical aptitude.
- A strong affinity for cutting-edge methodologies, software, and tools, specifically related to algorithmic trading platforms, financial programming (Python/R for finance), and decentralized blockchain architectures.
- A publication record in fields matching the professorship scope or relevant digital ecosystems.
- Innovative perspectives for advancing research and curriculum in the specified professorship domain.
Erfahrung
- Fluency in English for teaching and research purposes; international academic or industry experience is highly valued.
- Experience in developing and leading research projects, ideally with success in acquiring third-party funding.
- Experience in curriculum development and accreditation processes is an asset.
