Deine Rolle im Team
- As Data Governance Lead (m/f/d), be a core member of the central Data & AI function, responsible for operationalizing MediaMarktSaturn's federated data governance framework across ~11 markets. Work closely with Global Data Domain Owners, regional teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure data is trusted, compliant, and fit for purpose - at enterprise scale.
- Ownership and continuous evolution of the enterprise data governance framework, including policies, standards, data classification, and metadata management.
- Coordination of the Data Domain Council and support of domain working groups across all global data domains.
- Leadership of data quality governance through the definition of KPIs, escalation paths, and remediation workflows in collaboration with domain leads.
- Maintenance and continuous enhancement of the enterprise data catalog and business glossary on GCP/BigQuery, leveraging tools such as Dataplex, DataHub, and Collibra.
- Support of GDPR compliance activities, including data classification, PII discovery, and maintenance of Records of Processing Activities (RoPA).
- Close collaboration with Legal, Tax, IT Security, and Data Privacy teams to ensure alignment of governance frameworks with regulatory and risk requirements.
- Monitoring and reporting of governance maturity across domains, with a focus on continuous improvement and progress reporting to the Data Board.
- Functioning as the operational interface between the central Data & AI team and business-side domain leads, ensuring translation of governance requirements into actionable processes.

Qualifikationen
- Strong command of data governance frameworks and best practices (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK); ability to adapt them pragmatically to organizational context.
- Familiarity with GDPR and data privacy requirements, ideally in a retail or consumer context.
- Proven ability to work in a federated model - influencing without direct authority across business and technology stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills in English; German is a strong plus.
Erfahrung
- Several years in data governance, data management, or a related discipline in a complex, multi-market organization.
- Hands-on experience with data catalog and metadata tools - Dataplex, DataHub, Collibra, or similar.
- Cloud data platform experience, ideally GCP/BigQuery.
