Deine Rolle im Team
- We are looking for a new team member for our IT department.
- Design, operation and continuous development of the central HPC and scientific computing systems of the DZNE with Linux Operating System.
- Participation in the planning and construction of BeeGFS cluster, Slurm workload manager and InfiniBand switches.
- Design and implement NVIDIA GPU solution for scientific calculation.
- Operation of the central data center and site data centers of the DZNE.
- Rack and stack of data center servers and storage hardware.
- With your experience, you will be also responsible for medium/long term projects and coordinate external providers.
- The DZNE operates a central IT located in Bonn, which provides the central network, server and storage infrastructure, and services for the entire research center distributed across 10 sites, supporting the work of scientists and administration.
- We operate a virtualization infrastructure, with Linux and Windows servers.
Unsere Erwartungen an dich
Ausbildung
- University degree in Computer Science or relevant studies in a related field.
Qualifikationen
- Knowledge of the following technologies: Linux HPC, Slurm, Parallel cluster file system, HP high performance computing hardware compute and storage nodes.
- Willing to work in data center on physical servers, storage, rack and stack, cabling and labeling.
- Monitor, manage and prepare plan for power/cooling requirements of data center scientific computing hardware.
- High level of responsibility, initiative and ability to work in a team.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail of data center operation.
- Strong communications skills and collaborative approach.
Erfahrung
- Experience managing Linux-based systems in a research or academic environment.
- Relevant experience in the areas of HP high performance computing systems hardware, GPU systems, and InfiniBand switches.
- Experience with Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery strategies.
