- Mott MacDonald is expanding its energy business in Germany and is seeking a Principal Power system study Engineer to support the delivery of major transmission and distribution projects across Germany and Europe.
- This is an excellent opportunity for a professional who is energised by the challenge of building a specialist power systems capability in Germany.
- You will contribute to major grid reinforcement, renewable integration and interconnection projects supporting the energy transition.
- As a Principal Power System Studies Engineer, you will undertake technical studies to support transmission and distribution network planning, design and operation.
- You will work closely with utilities, developers and multidisciplinary engineering teams across Europe.
- Key responsibilities and duties include:
- Deliver power system studies for transmission and distribution projects.
- Perform load flow, short circuit, dynamic stability and contingency studies.
- Assess grid code connections and compliance requirements for renewable energy and energy storage projects.
- Develop network models and technical reports.
- Support grid connection applications and compliance assessments.
- Carry out power quality and harmonic distortion compliance assessments.
- Liaise with clients, transmission operators and regulatory authorities.
- Participate in technical reviews and design assurance activities.
- Support project teams with specialist power systems expertise.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical excellence within the team.
Unsere Erwartungen an dich
Ausbildung
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Qualifikationen
- Essential:
- Proficiency with software such as DIgSILENT, PowerFactory, PSS SINICAL.
- Knowledge of grid codes and utility standards.
- Excellent communication skills in German and English.
- Desirable:
- Chartership or equivalent professional accreditation.
Erfahrung
- Experience performing power system studies for transmission networks.
- Experience within transmission, renewable energy or utility infrastructure.
- Experience with 110kV, 220kV and 380kV networks.
- Experience working with TSO or DSO clients.
- Experience supporting grid connection and renewable integration projects.
